Let us pray that the human toll suffered on September 11, 2001, was not for nothing and that, as a nation and world, we hold dear every life created in the image and likeness of God. The events of that day contradict the very essence of what we as Catholics hold precious – human life. I ask you to join me in prayer as we remember those who died and the family, friends, and colleagues who continue to mourn their passing. On the eve of the twentieth anniversary of the September 11 attacks on our country, we reflect on the loss of life that we still grieve today.
